In response to member requests, in 2001
the Freehold Owners Association undertook to conduct seminars
throughout the Province of Alberta. These seminars have been
designed to provide information and education to freehold owners
on a broad range of freehold ownership issues, and to provide
a forum in which freeholders can raise questions and concerns
specific to their own circumstances.
Subsequently, FHOA has sponsored 16
mineral rights information seminars in southern and central
Alberta. FHOA thanks the Mineral Tax Division of Alberta
Energy, the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board and the Office
of the Farmers' Advocate of Alberta for their support in attending
various seminars.
If you believe that
there is sufficient interest in your area to hold a seminar,
and if you are willing to assist with organization, please contact
the Freehold Owners Association. An attendance level of between
150 and 200 is currently thought to be optimum for holding such
a seminar. Future seminar locations and dates will be published
on this web site ("Seminars").
