The Freehold Owners Association is currently studying a number of emerging issues which impact freehold owners. In coming months we expect to add information to this site on:

  • coal bed methane
  • a 'freeholder friendly' lease form

What's The Going Rate in My Area?

First and foremost we would like to thank all of our members who took the time to send in their information.

With financing provided by the Farmers Advocate under the Growing Forward Program, FHOA is now able to answer this question for freehold owners!

On this page you will find 4 maps.
  1. "Royalty Received Before Deductions - For Petroleum & Natural Gas Mineral Rights" - This map allows you to see what the Royalty Rate is in your area for freeholders that own both the Petroleum & Natural Gas Rights.
  2. "Royalty Received Before Deductions - For Natural Gas Only Mineral Rights" - This map allows you to see what the Royalty Rate is in your area for freeholders that own only the Natural Gas Rights.
  3. "Minimum % of Royalty Received After Deductions (Cap) - For Petroleum & Natural Gas Mineral Rights" - This map allows you to see what the Cap On Deductions (minimum royalty freeholders receive) is in your area for freeholders that own both Petroleum & Natural Gas Rights
  4. "Minimum % of Royalty Received After Deductions (Cap) - For Natural Gas Only Mineral Rights" - This map allows you to see what the Cap On Deductions (minimum royalty freeholders receive) is in your area for freeholders that own only the Natural Gas Rights.
